Health in the workplace

We’re committed to providing advice, services and programs to help keep UBC workplaces safe, healthy and respectful.

UBC makes wellbeing a priority that guides our daily interactions, decisions, policy planning, and program development.

See the links below for specific information related to UBC's Occupational and Preventive Health, workplace ergonomics, the Stay at Work/Return to Work program and WorkSafeBC claims.

For additional wellbeing supports, visit UBC Wellbeing.

Ergonomics Program

UBC offers a range of resources and services to promote optimal working postures and practices to reduce workplace musculoskeletal injuries.

WorkSafeBC Claims

Our office coordinates WorkSafeBC (WSBC) claims by filing reports of occupational injuries or disease. We communicate directly with WSBC to make sure they have the information they need to make decisions on claims.

Support for injured or ill employees

UBC's Stay at Work/Return to Work program provides injured or ill faculty and staff with information and services to help them keep working or return to work while managing a disability or medical impairment.

Occupational & Preventive Health

UBC’s Occupational & Preventive Health unit provides confidential and free programs, services, and advice to help protect the health and safety of staff, faculty, and paid students working both on and off campus, including UBCO and hospital sites.
