Immigration and assisting newcomers to Canada
UBC's Housing and Relocation Services has developed a self-isolation resource package in response to the Government of Canada requiring newcomers to Canada entering Canada by air, sea or land to self-isolate for 14 days whether or not they have symptoms of COVID-19. The document provides helpful instructions when planning on travelling to Canada, with links to resources such as temporary accommodation, travel options from point of entry to place of self-isolation, grocery delivery and concierge services.
Please visit the Immigration page for this resource.
If you need immigration assistance, please contact Director of Housing and Relocation Services Siobhan Murphy by email or phone 604-822-2089.
For a summary of key travel guidance, as well as support services and processes to identify, assess and control travel risk, including risks associated with COVID-19, view this travel guide developed by UBC Financial Operations.
The specific circumstances that may arise in your unit or department are contextual and may not be captured within these FAQs. Please contact your HR Advisor or Faculty Relations Senior Manager with further questions.
