This section lets you view fields that provide information regarding the creation of the position. For more details on the fields, see the Position Information page.
This section lets you view fields that provide a summary of the position.
|Salary Range as of date||Y||Y||This field defaults to today’s date. If the position is step or range based, a grid will appear below the date. If not, then the grid does not appear. If you want to see the salary grid as of a date other than today’s date, then change the date and click the Refresh button. This allows you to see past and future salary grids.|
|Refresh Button||See explanation above for Salary Range as of Date.|
|Salary Grid||Y||If applicable, shows the step or range grid appropriate for the position classification. This grid is hidden for faculty and other non-step/range based positions.|
|Funding Type||Y||The source of funding for this position, either: Budget Funded, Funded by Multiple Sources, Grant Funded, or Self Funded. The funding type is displayed on job postings when the position is used to create a job opening/posting.|
|Salary Commitments||Y||For filled positions, this field determines whether appointment or position information is used to calculate salary and benefit commitments:
The calculation of commitments may be delayed by entering a future Anticipated Hire Date on the Position Information Tab.
|Benefits Percent||Y||Y||This value defaults automatically based on the employer-paid benefit costs for the employment group selected for the position. The defaulted value is based on monthly, ongoing positions (all benefit plans). Adjust the percentage for hourly positions or positions which are not entitled to all benefits.|
|Funding Source||Y||The source of the funding for the position: either existing funds (turnover savings, etc.) or new funds. This information is used by the signing authority approver.|
|Budget Comments||Y||Enter supporting information to assist you or your approvers in understanding the funding on this page.|
|Begin Date||Y||Y||The date the funding from the specified account(s) is in effect. Click the plus icon on the extreme right to enter multiple funding date ranges.|
|End Date||Y||The last date the funding from the specified account(s) is in effect. This date defaults to the Position End Date provided on the Position Information Tab. This field will be blank for ongoing or tenured positions.|
|Account and Budget Details|
|Core Funding||Y||Select this check box for any funding that is designated as Core funding. This will be picked up in Core funding reports in Hyperion for positions where the Salary Commitment field is set to Posn Data. For positions designated as Hire Data, you must designate Core funding in HRMS hire records by putting the word CORE in the Reference field on appointment forms or on-line screens (eRecruit and ePAF).|
|Speedchart||Y||The four-digit, alpha speedchart which will be used to charge all salary and benefit related expenses for this position. Click the plus icon on the extreme right to enter multiple speedchart funding lines.|
|Account||Y||The six-digit, numeric account code which corresponds to the employment group (Faculty, Staff, or Student) and if the position is monthly or hourly paid. Click the magnifying glass icon for a list of valid values.
Note: The speedchart and account combination must be an active account with a PG end date which does not precede the position begin or end dates.
|Description||Y||A description of the funding details.|
|Amount Type||Y||Indicate how the budget dollars in the amount fields are being expressed, either: Annually, Monthly, or Per Period.|
|Salary Amount||Y||The total dollar amount, based on the Amount Type entered. Note: Annual amounts should be based on a twelve-month period, regardless of length of appointment.|
|Benefit Amount||Y||The calculated total benefit costs. The benefits budget is auto-calculated as per the benefits percent you provided (see the Benefits Percent field above).|
|Total||Y||The total salary and benefit budget for this speedchart.|
Note: The buttons available change depending on your security access or the current status of the position.
|Submit . . .||Depending on which Submit button is available, the appropriate action will be taken. Note: You may see different buttons based on the changes you are making to the position.
If any approvals are required, the position will be routed to the department and central approvers as defined in your workflow rules.
|Save for Later||Click this button if you wish to save the position but are not finished, or don’t want to submit it for approval at this time. You can return later to complete and submit. When you do a save for later, your position will have a draft status.|
|Cancel/Return||Click this button to return to the search list. If you have not saved your position you will be prompted to make a decision to save or abandon.|
|Previous||Click this button to move to the previous tab.|
|Next||Click this button to move to the next tab.|
