|Optional Introductory Wording||Y||This section is completely optional. Any text can be added which will appear as the first paragraph in your job posting, above the job description.
This is where Internal Riders notification statement can be added for non-union positions. Or, if you are reposting your job opening for the purposes of accepting applicants responding to a posting advertised externally (i.e., newspaper, job board), you can insert the “External Ad” text notification statement.
|Job Description||Y||For staff, the seven job description paragraphs appear here from the job description entered in the position. For faculty, the job ad appears here. You cannot revise this information here. If the job description requires changes, you must go back to the position in Position Management.|
|Additional Closing Wording||Y||Y||An equity statement is automatically added here for you. This appears on all postings and is not editable. Requests to modify the equity statement must be directed to Human Resources (staff postings)/Faculty Relations (Faculty postings).You can select additional closing wording by clicking the Add Additional Wording such as an Internal Rider statement for non-unionized staff positions, a place to include your departmental website address, and various faculty specific sentences.|
|Job Posting Destinations||Y||Y||Destination: The system automatically inserts an entry here for the UBC Careers Website. Destination values include AUCC University Affairs, CAUT Bulletin, Executive Search, Globe & Mail, Vancouver Province, and Vancouver Sun. Note that UBC eRecruit is not integrated with these additional posting destinations. Their use is for informational purposes only.
Posting Type: The posting audience: internal/external applicants. All UBC postings are open to internal and external applicants.
Post Date: The first day the posting will appear in the UBC Careers website. This date defaults to the next calendar day, to ensure postings are available to applicants for the full number of days in the posting period, but may be changed to a future date. Post dates will be automatically adjusted if job opening/posting approval is received after the original post date. For example, you create a job opening on March 1, post date is March 2, and you receive approval on March 3. The post date will be adjusted to March 4, the day following the approval.
Note that all postings default the Post Date to the next calendar day, except for CUPE 116 postings which default to the following Monday (or Tuesday, if Monday is a statutory holiday).
Remove Date (at 0:00): The first day the posting will not appear in the UBC Careers Website (i.e., it is removed at 0:00 on the Remove Date). For example, if your Remove Date is 2014/04/12, then the posting will be up until midnight on 2014/04/11.This date defaults to the posting close date based on the posting duration prescribed by the given employment group (note that some employment groups do not have prescribed posting periods).
Posting Duration (Calendar days)/Posting Duration (Working days): The system calculates the posting duration in calendar days and business days, excluding public holidays.
Upload Publication Ad: To upload a scanned version of your publication ad, click the Upload Ad hyperlink. To remove the scanned ad, click the garbage can icon.
|OK||Click this button when you are done with the posting and want to go back to the Job Opening page. Once you go back to the Job Opening page, you can save and submit your job opening/posting.|
|Cancel||Click this button to cancel your job posting and return to the Job Opening page.|
|View Job Posting||Click this button to go to an HTML page where you can see what your posting will look like when it’s on the web. You can print it from here using your browser print button.|
