Purpose: Provides user with results of position searches. Used for the following purposes:

 

  • Edit existing positions
  • Create new positions
  • Copy positions

Position search results

Note:

  • To sort columns in ascending or descending order, click the column heading.
  • Some of the fields below appear in the Job Information section at the top of Position Management pages as a summary of the position.
Field Description
Position No.
(Number)
The sequential number assigned by the system.
Employment Group The employment group (union, association, etc.) that the position belongs to.
Job Family The job family of the employment group that the position belongs to.
Job Code The six-digit job code that is associated with the position.
Classification Title The classification title that is associated with the position.
Business Title The descriptive business title (maximum of 50 characters) that is associated with the position.
Approval Status The approval status for the position, either:

 

  • Pending Approval–Pending both central and departmental approval.
  • Draft–When user selects “Save for Later”.
  • OK for eRecruit and ePAF–All necessary approvals have been obtained; position can be used in ePAF and eRecruit.
  • Pending Department Approval–Position is out for departmental approval.
  • Pushback from Department–Departmental pushback.
  • Pending Central Approval–Position is out for central approval.
  • Pushback from Central–Central pushback.
  • OK for ePAF only–Departmental approvals have been received and position can be used in ePAF. Department has not requested Central Approval (Staff position or Faculty job ad either doesn’t exist or if it does, approval hasn’t been requested).
  • Saved without approval–When user selects “Save without Approvals”.
Position Status The status for the position, either Active or Inactive.
Incumbent Name The first and last name of the incumbent in the position.

Buttons

Button Description
Add New Position Click this button to go to a blank position page and create a new position.
Update* Select the check box to the left of the position you want to view or edit and click the Update button. If the Update option is no longer available, then the position cannot be updated. *Note: If you do not see an Update button, you only have View (Inquiry) access in Position Management or the position cannot be currently updated.
View* Select the check box to the left of the position you want to view and click the View button. *Note: The View button appears if you only have View (Inquiry) access in Position Management or the position cannot be currently updated.
Copy Select the check box to the left of the position you want to use as a template and click the Copy button to copy the selected position.
Back to Search page Click this button to return to the position search page.
