In early 2025, over 1,000 Workplace Experiences Survey reports were shared across UBC to help leaders turn employee feedback into meaningful action.
With insights from over 9,000 faculty and staff, these reports are a powerful tool for team conversations around shaping a better workplace. Listening to feedback and taking action at both the unit and institutional level is essential to nurturing a strong and vibrant workplace, together.
Some highlights from 2025
- Many teams, units, and portfolios have reviewed their results and explored ways to enhance workplace experiences.
- HR collaborated with a number of units, including the Equity & Inclusion Offices in Vancouver and the Okanagan, to use WES data to guide ongoing work and future initiatives, including strategic planning.
- WES results have informed UBC’s strategic priorities and will serve as institutional-level key metrics.
- Insights from WES have enhanced programs, such as the Developing Leaders Program and Emerging Leaders Program, validating the importance of addressing themes such as building trust and increasing visibility of senior leaders.
We are also reviewing how we listen to faculty and staff feedback to ensure voices are heard and reflected in meaningful ways. We look forward to continuing to listen, share back, and take action on employee experiences across the university.
