To make it easier for faculty and staff to stay on top of required training, UBC is consolidating training notifications through Workday.
Currently, staff receive individual reminders for each course that has not yet been completed. In March, all employees - including faculty - will receive one comprehensive notification listing all required training and its status—whether complete, incomplete or not applicable.
This approach provides a clear snapshot of what is outstanding and has not yet been completed, and helps ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and UBC requirements, supporting a safe and respectful workplace for everyone.
What to expect
- Notifications include links to enroll and complete courses through WPL
- If training remains incomplete after two weeks, the employee’s supervisor, Department Head, or Dean will be notified to provide support and ensure completion
