Faculty Professional Development Fund entitlement amounts are increasing on July 1

Faculty Professional Development Fund entitlement amounts will increase for Faculty Association members starting on July 1, 2026.

The amount, how it is calculated, and when it appears in Workday will depend on the member’s appointment type.

For Faculty Association members, excluding Sessional Lecturers without continuing status:

These members receive a set annual entitlement amount. On July 1, 2026 the amount will increase from $1,700 to $3,000. Further increases will follow in 2027 and 2028.

For Sessional Lecturers without continuing status:

These members receive entitlement based on credits taught, up to an annual maximum. On July 1, 2026 the entitlement amount will increase from $100 per credit taught to $150 per credit taught. Further increases will follow in 2027 and 2028.

When the increased amount will appear in Workday

For Faculty Association members, excluding Sessional Lecturers without continuing status:

Eligible members will see the new $3,000 entitlement reflected as of July 1, 2026. The total eligible amount will be prorated for members with partial-year eligibility.

If a member has unused entitlement carried forward from previous years, that amount will also continue to be included in their total eligible amount, subject to any applicable expiry.

For Sessional Lecturers without continuing status:

The increased per-credit rate will be displayed on August 15, 2026. The first entitlement is calculated at the new $150 per credit rate based on the Summer Term

Subsequent assessments will be displayed for the Fall Term on October 15, 2026 and the Winter term on February 15, 2027.
