Workday corner: use the benefits summary to ensure your details are up-to-date

To celebrate the upcoming National Employee Benefits Day on April 6, 2023, we recommend taking a moment to review your benefits in Workday to ensure your information is kept up-to-date.

Please see below for a quick checklist of items to review:

  • Benefits Summary: For a snapshot of your current benefits enrolment, dependent(s) and beneficiary information in Workday, go to Benefits from your Workday profile.
  • Contact Information: It is important to keep your contact information in Workday up-to-date. If you are enrolled in the Extended Health and/or Dental plans, your Home Contact information in Workday is automatically sent to Sun Life for their records. If you need to make changes to your home address, phone number or email address, see Change My Contact Information in the Workday Knowledge Base. The updated information will be sent to Sun Life within one week for their systems to be updated.
  • Dependent Information: For your eligible dependent(s) to continue to access coverage under your plans, it is important their information is also kept up-to-date.
    • Student Status: For dependents age 19 and older (and under age 25) who are attending school full-time, their student status in Workday needs to be updated each year. You will receive a task in your Workday inbox at the beginning of the month that your child is born. This task will help you update and confirm your child’s student status for up to one more year. If not completed by the due date indicated in the task, your dependent child will be removed as a dependent from your benefit plans. For guidance on how to update your dependent child’s student status in Workday without the task, please see Update Dependent Child’s Full-Time Student Status in the Workday Knowledge Base.
    • Tuition Waiver Benefit: To submit a Tuition Waiver for your dependent through the Salesforce system, they will need to be listed as a dependent in your Workday profile. If you are not seeing your dependent as an option to submit a Tuition Waiver for in Salesforce, you may need to add them as a dependent in Workday. See Create Tuition Waiver – Credit Course and Add or Create a New Dependent in the Workday Knowledge Base for guidance.
