Noojimo Health is an Indigenous-owned organization that provides culturally safe and timely virtual mental health services, delivered by an Indigenous care provider for Indigenous people.
Noojimo Health is available through UBC’s Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) provider, GreenShield Health. This service is free and confidential for all eligible faculty, staff, and eligible dependents who identify as Indigenous.
Noojimo means "to heal" in Anishinaabemowin
Noojimo Health offers a range of supports through a circle of Indigenous health professionals who help individuals feel heard, seen, and supported on their healing journey. Services include:
- Individual Counselling (for Youth and Adults)
- Group & Family Counselling
- Employee & Family Wellness Support
To explore specific areas of counselling focus, visit: Healing on Your Path to Wellness.
An important note about coverage: NIHB Coverage & Direct Billing
Many of Noojimo Health’s clinicians are registered providers for the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program. The NIHB program covers up to 22 hours of counselling annually for eligible First Nations and Inuit clients. Noojimo will bill NIHB first, before billing GreenShield Health.
Individuals are asked to mention what they are eligible for when connecting with Noojimo.
