Talking to your kids about sex: Tips for adults, guardians, and askable adults

11 am - 12 pm PST, May 16 & May 23. The prospect of talking to young people about sex and sexual health can be a difficult one, often made more challenging by a lack of knowledge, personal discomfort, or shame around the topic. The good news is that these conversations don’t need to be feared or avoided.

If you are a parent, guardian, or an askable adult (This could be someone like an aunt/uncle, family friend, mentor or teacher – anyone who wants to feel prepared to have these conversations with the kids in their life that they support/love/care for.), the Workplace Wellbeing team has got you covered for timely information on this sensitive subject, including age-appropriate knowledge, and fantastic resources.

In this two-part workshop series, you will:

  • learn comprehensive age-appropriate body science and sexual health information to support you on the path to starting/continuing lifelong conversations with the important kiddo(s) in your life
  • take away a helpful formula for answering body/sexual health related questions
  • find out about some fantastic books and educational resources for parents, and for children of any age

Join us for these two sessions, and help provide the young people in your life with the tools to keep themselves safe and to make healthy and informed decisions.
