Living and working well with stress
-
2-3 pm. Workplace stress can be triggered by many sources: heavy workloads, tight timelines, or difficult co-workers. When combined with the pressures and responsibilities we all have outside of work, it is no wonder that employees may experience high levels of stress in their daily routines. Left unaddressed, stress can lead to challenges at work, and has the potential to turn into a major mental or physical health concern. This workshop will teach participants how to effectively manage stress for optimal health, wellbeing, and workplace productivity.

Getting out of your own way: Self-compassion for overachievers
-
12-1 pm PST. Do you struggle with the inner critic in your head that constantly says you aren’t doing enough or aren’t good enough? If so, you aren’t alone. In this workshop on self-compassion, we look at ways to put healthy boundaries around our inner critic when difficult events unfold. Instead of an incessant need to drive forward and achieve more, we can look at ways to utilize self-compassion to permit us to rest and accept ourselves in a way that transcends what we look like, where we work, and the many other expectations that we navigate.

How can mindfulness improve performance in your workplace? This workshop provides a research-based, mindfulness approach to navigating volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous at work. Participants will learn about the default mode of the brain and how stress can bias our attention, before the focus shifts to mindfulness concepts and the science behind the practice.
