With the start of the new academic year, we have seen very strong demand for 1:1 coaching from UBC staff and faculty on the UBC Coaching Portal. If you are looking to build your coaching hours, now is a great time to be available to take on new clients. If you currently have capacity to take on new clients, we encourage you to log into the UBC Coaching Portal and ensure your profile is displaying as available. If you are unsure why your profile is not displaying as available, here are some things to try:
- In your coach profile, ensure the “Unavailable” toggle is off. Also, under “Coach Client Commitment”, ensure “Self-Select: 1:1 Coaching” is selected.
- Check your coaching capacity and ensure that it is greater than your number of active engagements. This includes engagements in requested, contacted and in-progress statuses.
- Decline any coaching requests that are not going forward
- Close any inactive coaching engagements
If after trying the above actions, your profile is still displaying as unavailable, please get in touch: coaching@hr.ubc.ca
