To find strengths and opportunities for improvement related to workplace mental health, UBC is using Excellence Canada’s benchmarking assessment and progressive certification validation process to align with the Mental Health@Work framework.
Organized through HR’s Health, Wellbeing, & Benefits team, Excellence Canada representatives will be conducting several one-hour focus groups toward the end of June. We ask the HR community to help us find volunteer participants for the focus groups that represent faculty, staff, directors/managers and supervisors and help share this opportunity to improve our workplace mental health efforts.
These focus groups will:
- Validate UBC priorities, culture, and leadership related to mental health in the workplace.
- Assess awareness of mental health programs and resources available to faculty and staff and their dependents and your experience in the UBC workplace.
All perspectives on how we support mental health at UBC are welcome. All information reviewed or discussed is confidential and virtual sessions will not be recorded, nor will remarks be attributable to individual participants. There is no pre-work, reading, or preparation required before the focus groups.
If you are interested in participating and available to attend the focus groups near the end of June, register by noon, Monday, May 2.
