Successful implementation of Workday 2021 Release 1 last weekend

The Integrated Service Centre (ISC) has successfully completed a significant milestone with the implementation of Workday 2021 Release 1 over the March 13th weekend. This is the first release since the November HR and Finance go-live and the first of two yearly Workday delivered releases that happen each March and September. Each release has both mandatory and optional items available for UBC to select from. For this March release, UBC only adopted mandatory features that required immediate uptake to maintain the system and support stabilization of our production tenant and data.

This release included many back-end items which won’t be noticeable to end users. Impact assessments done by the ISC identified three changes that some end users will notice and these have been detailed on the ISC website on a new Workday Releases page.

With Financial year end coming and many other competing priorities, we understand this is a busy time of year and appreciate the time and focus on this work from all those involved. We recognize the effort and the significant contributions from the ISC, IEC, UBC IT and the broader community that supported a successful Workday 2021 Release 1.
