Dr. Benoit-Antoine Bacon officially begins his term as UBC’s 17th President and Vice-Chancellor

November 1 marks the start of Dr. Bacon's appointment as UBC's President and Vice-Chancellor. 

Dr. Bacon is recognized for his leadership in student success, research funding, Indigenous initiatives, sustainability, and equity, diversity and inclusion. As a researcher, Dr. Bacon studies the neurophysiological and cognitive bases of visual and multisensory perception. Sharing his own lived experience, he is a strong advocate nationally for open conversations about mental health and substance use.
