Pink Shirt Day on February 24

On Pink Shirt Day, we wear pink to show that we take a stand against bullying in our schools, workplaces and online.

In spirit of taking action to spread kindness and advocate for those who need, we invite faculty and staff to participate in Pink Shirt Day on February 24 by wearing a pink shirt, making your Zoom background pink, or contributing in your own way.

Pink Shirt Day is as a powerful example of how small actions can contribute to meaningful change.

Now celebrated globally, Pink Shirt Day was inspired by a single act of kindness when two high school students took a stand against transphobic bullying. The two students saw another student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt. In a powerful act of allyship, solidarity, and kindness, the two students distributed pink shirts the next day for students to wear in protest.
