Now a global movement, Pink Shirt Day grew from an act of kindness in Nova Scotia when a group of students supported a fellow student being bullied for wearing a pink t-shirt to school.
In the spirit of spreading kindness and advocating for those who need it, we invite faculty and staff to participate in Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday, February 23.
Wear a pink shirt, download a pink Zoom background, or contribute in your own way. We also invite you to explore these resources from our community:
- Watch UBC President Santa Ono's video message supporting Pink Shirt Day.
- Find resources for individuals and leaders to contribute to Building a respectful online work environment.
- Browse the Collection spotlight: Pink Shirt Day – a selection of children's, young adult, and teacher's resources available at the UBC Education Library.
