Join the annual Staff and Faculty BBQ on September 10

UBC Human Resources welcomes staff and faculty to the new academic year with the annual UBC Staff and Faculty BBQ.

UBC staff and faculty are invited to enjoy a complimentary BBQ lunch this fall! Join fellow UBC colleagues at this annual event and enjoy live entertainment, connect with colleagues and engage with community partners at the many information tables. 

To accommodate the increase in numbers and to ensure quicker lines, we will be holding two separate time slots. Staff and faculty will be asked to indicate their preferred time slot when they register.

Date: Wednesday, September 10

• Time Slot 1: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
• Time Slot 2: 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm 

Location: Flag Pole Plaza

To RSVP for the BBQ, staff and faculty should provide their information to their designated department administrative contact by Wednesday, August 20. 

Make sure to provide your preferred time slot, and your hot dog and bun preference (this includes dietary details with vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options). Wristbands will be sent to the departmental contact in each department a week before the event.

Support zero waste

This year we are hoping to reduce waste and environmental impact, wherever possible. Only two waste streams will be available at the event: compost and recycling.

Do your part by:

• Bringing a reusable water bottle
• Bringing your own plate and cutlery
• Recycling and composting properly – clear signage and onsite sustainability volunteers will be there to help
