The pilot cohort of the New to UBC Vancouver Connections Program comes to a close as we welcome the 2024 Summer cohort.
After a successful pilot cohort of the New to UBC Vancouver Connections Program in 2023, we received an incredibly enthusiastic response for the 2024 Summer cohort with 100 new faculty and staff within their first year at UBC joining the program.
This month, we brought the two cohorts together for a combined closing and kick-off event. Participants had a chance to hear from Marjorie Lewis, HR’s Executive Director, Talent Management, about how connections have made an impact in her career and in her own onboarding journey at UBC. Our colleagues from the Health, Wellbeing and Benefits team also shared their stories and the resources that have supported them in their roles. Participants also connected with others in the program through networking activities.
We also celebrated the wrap-up of our 2023 Winter pilot cohort and their experiences in building meaningful, lasting connections. Pilot participants shared positive feedback about the program, such as:
