Central Advisory Services and Employee & Labour Relations are excited to share with you a new guide for managers that provides a step-by-step approach to unit restructuring.

Front cover of HR Guidelines for Unit Restructuring document

This HR Guidelines for unit restructuring is designed to help managers make informed decisions based on the operational changes required. These changes may be driven by budget reduction, reduced workload, streamlining work efforts, technological change and new operational processes.

The guide outlines four key steps that managers should follow when considering a restructuring:

  1. Review the situation and identify considerations (Labour Law Considerations)
  2. Draft a plan and timeline considerations in collaboration with HR
  3. Implement the plan
  4. Considerations after restructuring initiated

Please note that additional support is available through your HR representative. We hope you find this guide helpful and please feel free to share this resource as needed.
