Starting Friday, November 1, 2024, eligible UBC faculty and staff will have a new Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) provider through GreenShield Health, replacing TELUS Health.
Helping to prioritize your wellbeing
With so many resources and options available, it can sometimes feel overwhelming to find the support you need. That is why we are moving to GreenShield Health to provide eligible faculty, staff and their dependents with free access to comprehensive, personalized mental, and physical health support that includes unlimited counselling and work-life consultations.
The GreenShield+ digital platform will connect you with counsellors and services based on your specific needs, preferences, and the nature of your issue through a personalized matching service, guided by a Health Navigator who will ensure you get the right level of care for your health journey.
The new EFAP provides counselling and work life support in challenging times, and also access to other preventive care resources, substance use support, and expert medical advice through an integrated platform. From November 1, you can set up a login to the digital platform or call GreenShield, and the Health Navigator will help guide you to the services you need.
Important information
- On November 1, eligible faculty and staff will receive an email from UBC’s HR Benefits team with the sign-up details
- You can call GreenShield at 1-866-424-0770 (same as the current number)
- When signing up, you will use your UBC employee ID and the Organization Code: UBC to sign in. You will not need to use your CWL.
- Services remain confidential, and UBC is not informed of users' identities.
Access to previous services
If you are currently engaged in ongoing support through our current providers, you can continue using services from TELUS Health, ALAViDA, or Teladoc after November 1. Details for accessing these services will be updated on our Employee and Family Assistance Program page on the HR website.
