This fall explore the various walking and physical programs to improve your health and reduce stress.
Movement Breaks (in-person or online): The Move U Crew is offering 5-10-minute movement breaks both in person and online. Movement breaks are a great way to break up your meeting/class and provide a healthy brain break! You can request movement breaks for free through Move U Crew page.
Wellbeing Walks (UBC Point Grey): This semester UBC Rec is offering physically distanced walks starting from Orchard Commons every Thursday, 11:30-12:30pm. This semester’s feature walks include a Wellbeing in Nature guided walk, a puppy walk, and a tour of the Museum of Anthropology. Walks are free and open to everyone!
Lunch + Lift workshop series (online): Lunch & Lift is a series of free 2-in-1 interactive wellbeing workshops consisting of a 30-minute movement class, followed by a 30-minute interactive wellbeing session facilitated by a UBC wellbeing professional. Different fitness classes and wellbeing professionals will be showcased each month.
Get Active at Home (online): Throughout this year, UBC Recreation is offering lots of resources to keep you active at home through free fitness classes, wellbeing challenges, movement breaks, events, blog posts, and more!
LIFT Fitness App: This app, part of your Employee and Family Assistance Program with UBC, gives you access to personalized workout programs certified by experts to help you reach your fitness goals. To access it, register online (note: put “University of British Columbia” as the organization), then download the app on your phone.
healthesteps: Learn how to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on chronic disease risk by joining the healthesteps program. You will receive healthy living prescriptions and personalized virtual coaching to help you reach your physical activity, mindfulness and healthy eating goals – and it’s free!
