Creating a flexible workplace environment supports a range of UBC’s institutional goals, including the attraction and retention of faculty and staff, as well as our commitments to inclusion, wellbeing, and climate action.
In June 2022, UBC formally adopted a hybrid work program. At the centre of the hybrid work program is the need to preserve the student experience, advance the academic mission, support research excellence and impact, and maintain the high quality of our programs.
The hybrid work program is available for all eligible staff. Staff and leaders need to understand the program objectives and principles, as well as the mental health support and learning resources available, prior to proceeding with the program. All staff who participate in the program must have a Hybrid Work Agreement in place in Workday.
