The following message is being sent on behalf of Harjot Guram, Senior Director ISC Operations, Adam Charania, AVP, Human Resources - Strategic Advisory Partnerships, and Michelle Berner, Managing Director, Human Resources - Total Compensation, Health & Wellbeing, to HR Administrators and Managers.
Please disseminate this information as is appropriate.
We are pleased to advise that the Integrated Service Centre (ISC) will be implementing the 2021 2% General Wage Increase (GWI) for staff as follows:
- Effective April 1, 2021: CUPE 116; CUPE 2950; IUOE 115
- Effective May 1, 2021: BCGEU Childcare
- Effective July 1, 2021: AAPS; BCGEU Okanagan; Technicians & Research Assistants; Executive Administrative; Farm Workers; Faculty
- Effective Sept 1, 2021: CUPE 2278
In addition:
- Effective June 1, 2021: BC Minimum Wage Increase
For the upcoming GWIs that are effective April 1, 2021:
- It’s important that there be no “in progress” compensation-affecting transactions in Workday for affected employees during the processing period of these increases (if possible).
- If there are any “in progress” compensation transactions, then that employee’s GWI implementation will come back as an error during processing, and the increase for that worker will be delayed because manual processing will be required.
- Please complete any “in progress” transactions for CUPE 116, CUPE 2950, and IUOE 115 employees by March 31, 2021.
- A detailed explanation of how to identify “in progress” compensation-affecting transactions can be found at https://ubc.service-now.com/selfservice/?id=kb_article&sysparm_article=KB0017540.
- Note that it is the following transaction types, specifically, that cause issues if they are “in progress” when the GWIs are processed:
- Change Job
- Compensation Change
- Data Change
- Lateral Transfer
- Promotion
- Propose Compensation Change
- Propose Compensation Hire
- Start Additional Job
