Sessional lecturers
Sessional Lecturers are members of the Faculty Association and may be full-time or part-time. They are appointed to teach credit course(s), or to perform related duties such as course coordination or laboratory supervision, for a period of less than twelve (12) months. These appointments are governed by Part 7 of the Collective Agreement.
Reduced appointments
Faculty Association members with tenure or grant tenure can request a reduced appointment. Appointments can be reduced to 50 – 99% short term or indefinitely.
In order to process a reduced appointment a faculty member must complete a Reduced Appointment Form (doc), which will need to be reviewed and approved by both the head and dean. Once completed this form should be attached to the action in Workday.
Such appointments continue to be eligible for pension and benefits, but some contributions may be based on the actual salary paid.
Please see the Agreement, Part 8 Reduced Appointments for more information.
