Expanded list of pronouns in Workday

UBC has expanded the list of pronoun options in Workday to better serve UBC employees. Modeling the correct use of pronouns supports creating an inclusive campus environment.

Sharing what third-person pronouns you use can encourage the accurate use of pronouns, and decrease instances of misgendering. Some people may prefer not to share their pronouns, and people should never be required to share their pronouns.

We recognize that a single-select drop-down menu provides a limited number of options to choose from. UBC is continuing to elevate this conversation with Workday to encourage the development of a free form field for pronouns.

For more information and context on third-person pronouns, visit the Pronouns page on the UBC Equity and Inclusion website.

For guidance on how to update personal information, including pronouns, in Workday, see Change My Personal Information in the Workday knowledge base.
