Contingent Worker contracts will auto-terminate on end date unless extended, starting November 1

Workday to automatically end contracts on expected end dates for contingent workers, starting November 1.

Due to many contingent workers remaining on UBC systems beyond their contract end date, starting November 1, 2023, Workday will automatically end contracts on their expected end date to ensure contingent workers do not have access to Workday and other UBC systems past their end date.

To keep their contract active and maintain their access to UBC systems, contingent workers’ contracts will need to be extended in Workday before October 31, 2023. Any contingent worker whose end date has already passed and are not extended by October 31, 2023 will have their contract ended automatically.

Please ensure extensions are processed prior to the contract end date to ensure the contingent worker can continue to access UBC systems.

  • For guidance on how to extend contingent workers, see Change Job: Extension (Contingent Worker) in the Workday Knowledge Base.
  • To check upcoming contingent worker end dates, you can search for and run the Contingent Workers with Expiring Contracts report in Workday.

A notice about this update to Workday was previously shared in Workday This Week in August 2023.
