When unexpected medical events occur, being prepared will help you feel secure that you still have the income you need to continue living comfortably. UBC’s Long-Term Disability (LTD) benefits, offered to eligible employees, protect you when you have a total disability that prevents you from working for an extended period.

Under the UBC Extended Health plan, claims for medical equipment costing $5,000 or more require preauthorization prior to purchase.1 Under the UBC Dental Plan, any major treatment of $500 or more requires a predetermination prior to the treatment.2
