Let's explore a few of the lesser-known perks at UBC. 

On-campus perks 

There are many offers available on-campus which include free admission or discounted rates for some of the wonderful facilities and opportunities. Here are two we thought you may have missed. 

Garden variety

If you are looking to get some fresh air over the summer on the Point Grey campus, consider visiting the UBC Botanical Garden and Nitobe Memorial Garden. Admission is free for faculty and staff, just show your UBC card! 

Reduce the transit cost

UBC Okanagan employees are eligible to enrol in the ProPASS Program to receive a reduced cost on adult monthly bus passes. Online enrolment for the Fall 2023 Pass Period opens on August 1! 

Additional offers 

Sun Life and Lumino Health 

UBC faculty and staff enrolled in the Extended Health plan are eligible to access discounts through Sun Life’s Marketplace and Lumino Health. These perks are also available for any dependents covered under your Extended Health plan.. 

Simply log in to Sun Life member website and look for the Marketplace and Lumino Health Community options on the main page. You’ll find special offers sorted by a variety of categories – including Aged Care, Pet Health, Fitness, Mental Health, and more – making it easy to access the discounts that are most relevant to you and your family.  

In addition to corporate discounts, Lumino provides health information with articles and podcasts on specific topics, such as mental health, diet and nutrition, and aging and caregiving. 

TELUS Health

UBC faculty and staff, as well as their dependents, enrolled in the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) can access Exclusive Offers through the TELUS Health One platform. 

Head over to TELUS Health and log in using your Campus-Wide Login, then use the top navigation to find the Exclusive Offers section. Here you will find a range of discounts for health and wellbeing products, consumer goods, travel, and other great offers exclusively for UBC faculty and staff. 

Exclusive Offers include free meals when you sign up for a meal kit subscription (Hello Fresh and Chefs Plate) as well as preferred pricing on the latest Apple products & accessories. Explore the list of exclusive offers, you can even subscribe to a newsletter to keep up to date on the latest savings and offers.
