CUPE 116 agreement ratified
We are pleased to share that the three-year collective agreement between the University and CUPE 116 has been ratified by all parties and is now in full effect. This agreement covers the period April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2025.

BCGEU Okanagan bargaining update
BCGEU Okanagan and the University started bargaining on October 19 and met over three consecutive days. The discussions were productive, positive and collaborative The parties are continuing to exchange and discuss proposals, and are scheduled to meet again on November 7, 8 and 9.

CUPE 116 Bargaining
CUPE 116 has informed us that the tentative agreement covering the renewal of the Collective Agreement has been ratified by their membership. The University is currently in the process of completing our ratification and further details will be provided once ratification is complete.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) are temporarily lifting the limit to off-campus work hours for eligible non-UBC students
International Students from Designated Learning Institutions (DLI’s) were previously restricted to working a maximum of 20 hours per week off-campus when their program is in session and they hold a valid Study Permit.
