  • And much more!

Role of an Ambassador

But what does the role of a WWA look like? You might like to take a look at our interviews with Felicia and Louise or Erin and Maureen  nothing like hearing from those who have done the role! But you might like to just dive into the details.

First, we ask each WWA to commit to one year in the role. This allows you to learn about the role and learn the skills needed to embed wellbeing in your team/unit/department. It also gives you the chance to leverage the various wellbeing initiatives, grants, and events that occur throughout the year.

We certainly don’t want you to do this alone. WWAs will connect with the Workplace Wellbeing team to stay up to date on relevant priorities and initiatives and to share feedback, and experiences regarding wellbeing at the local level. With our support, you will be well-placed to share resources and learning opportunities with faculty and staff in your team/department/unit. We know that WWAs over the years have become valued support and mentors – someone who can organize programs and activities that effectively promote health and wellbeing.

Finally, all WWAs have the opportunity to access professional development opportunities which will help role-model promising practices in the workplace. Something other WWAs have done with great success over the years, including a President’s Staff Award winner for Wellbeing in 2022!

Time commitment and length of term

  • Length of term: Ambassadors are asked to commit to this role for a minimum of one year, with the option to recommit to the role annually
  • Time commitment: 2-4 hours per month (this may vary depending on training and programs)
