Accommodations are modifications or adjustments that reduce or eliminate barriers to full participation in the workplace, creating accessible work environments that enable all faculty and staff to meet the core requirements of their job.
Examples of accommodations include, but are not limited to:
- Communication services: Captioning, enlarged print, or sign language interpretation.
- Equipment or technology: Remote door openers, voice-to-text software, or FM systems.
- Modified job duties: Performing standing tasks from a seated position or limiting tasks that require lifting.
- Modified scheduling: Adjusting work hours or location(s) of work.
