Faculty, librarian and researcher salaries

This page offers basic information about starting salaries, additional payments, and/or increases for Faculty, Librarians, Program Directors in Extended Learning, Sessional Lecturers and Research Associates.

Starting salaries 

There are no salary scales for UBC Faculty, Librarians or for Program Directors in Extended Learning, with starting pay based on an initial negotiation.

Research Associates are paid from research grants or contracts, based on negotiation around a minimum yearly amount.

Sessional Lecturers are paid in accordance with the Sessional Salary Scale (Refer to Part 2, Article 4 of the Collective Agreement).

Your monthly salary is paid in two instalments: on the 15th and the last day of every month. You must arrange for your paycheque to be deposited directly into your bank account.
