We'll help you with a summary of Canadian immigration processes and how they apply to those in different positions at UBC. It's your responsibility, however, to stay up to date with immigration information for your specific situation.
COVID-19 related travel and entry requirements
March 1, 2022
For incoming faculty and staff members arriving from outside of Canada, please see the eligibility and travel requirements to enter Canada on the Government of Canada website.
Note: If you have been directed by an official to quarantine upon arrival, please alert your departmental administrator or HR Manager immediately.
New faculty and staff entering Canada must inform their departmental administrator or HR Manager if they are directed to quarantine/self-isolate by a public health or CBSA officer. UBC departments must pay faculty and staff during the quarantine/self-isolation period in the rare case where this may happen, such as somebody testing positive for Covid-19 after a random PCR test at the airport.
If you have any questions, please contact Housing and Relocation Services.
Requirements and work permits
Details of what's required for you and accompanying family members to enter Canada will depend on two things: the type of appointment you've been offered, and your citizenship.
