WorkLife services

Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) offers an extensive suite of services to support you – from providing wellness coaching or advising on family issues to offering legal support.

These supports from our EFAP provider, LifeWorks, are not intended to be a full-service offering, particularly if you are dealing with a complex case. These services are a great way to get short- and medium-term assistance and to discuss, with the LifeWorks professional, what additional services are needed to fully assist you across your Family, Health, Money, Life, and Work issues. Please note:

  • You and your dependents can access these services throughout the year, there are no maximums. However, if your situation is more complex or requires more long-term support it might be best if you access additional support outside of the Employee and Family Assistance Program. For example, you can access up to $3000 in psychological services through your extended health benefits
  • Depending on the nature of your situation, LifeWorks may then refer you to a qualified professional in your area to continue service (for example, a referral can be made to a lawyer specializing in family law). Discounted rates may apply to referred services.
  • WorkLife consultations are conducted over the telephone. The average number of consultations available for a specific WorkLife issue is three, with the duration varying depending on your particular case, and the nature of the issue.
    • For those accessing Legal Services, please note these are limited to one, 30-minute consultation.
    • For Financial services, you have access to a one-hour session.
    • If you are accessing Nutritional services, please note that you can access three, one-hour consultations.
